The Wolfgang Obert and Karl Schloz Duo
Sounds of the city. The bare essence of Jazz. Hand-crafted swing. Two musicians sounding like so much more, but always remembering the essential.
Tenor saxophonist Wolfgang Obert plays with a full and open sound that is perfectly complimented by the swinging and intuitive accompaniment of 7-string guitarist Karl Schloz. This is music for the listener and the player, with a constant interplay that never overshadows the song... and always has heart and soul.
Wolfgang Obert has been part of the German music scene for over 20 years; most recently active in the vibrant Berlin studio and club scene, and not to forget his performances with Clark Terry among others.
Karl Schloz came to Berlin from New York City and in the last few years has been associated with Till Brönner, Hildegard Knef, Manfred Krug, and Rosemary Clooney. Appearing on a dozen major releases in the recent past, Karl's debut CD, "A Smooth One" (Nagel-Heyer Records) was played on radio stations around the globe.
This is pure and honest jazz; here and now...
